Applications Open for the 2026 WRCCA Awards Program
WRCCA of the Year
The Certified Crop Adviser of the Year Award recognizes a WRCCA who has shown dedicated and exceptional performance as an agronomist and leads others to promote agricultural practices that benefit the farmers and environment in the Western Region. Applications for the 2026 CCA of the Year will close on August 28, 2026.
Scholarships
The Western Region Certified Crop Adviser program is excited to announce the seventh annual scholarship program for students interested in agronomy and obtaining their Certified Crop Adviser credentials. Scholarship recipients are the next generation of leaders in the agriculture industry.
Western Region CCA is offering four $1,000 scholarships to undergraduate students. One from each of the four following regions: Arizona/California desert region, California coast region, California northern valley region, and California southern valley region.
The scholarship application features a series of questions and will be scored on the following:
· Describe your coursework, year in school, GPA, and major
· Describe any scholarships, awards, and other forms of recognition you have received
· Describe your leadership involvement at school and in the community
· Describe your professional commitment to agriculture and work history (if applicable)
· Describe your pathway to earning the Certified Crop Adviser credential in the near future
Scholarship applications will be submitted online through the homepage (www.wrcca.org/scholarships). Apply before the May 22nd deadline.
Honorariums
In addition to the scholarship program, WRCCA will be offering Honorariums to professors who teach agronomy related coursework. There are four $500 Honorariums available. To apply, write and submit a plan of how you would utilize the funds to help students learn more about agronomy. Plans will be submitted online through the homepage (www.wrcca.org/honorariums). Apply before the May 22nd deadline.
